My Story
Velour has worked in women’s health since 2011. Her healthcare career began after she received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 2008 from the University of Cincinnati. She worked in pediatrics, orthopedic trauma, and community health nursing before discovering her interest in women’s health. While working in a family birthing center as a labor & delivery nurse in Cincinnati, Ohio, Velour completed her Master of Science in Nursing with a subspecialty in Women’s Health. Velour is drawn to women’s health because she enjoys taking care of those who take care of everyone else.

To enhance her healthcare knowledge, Velour has worked in numerous regions and hospitals, learning from many nurses, midwives, practitioners and doctors along the way. From clinics and family birthing centers in Ohio to inpatient hospitals, newborn nurseries and operating rooms in Georgia, Louisiana and Southern California, Velour has had a wide range of exposure and growth over the years.
The Process
Velour prides herself in staying informed and aware of best practice recommendations. She believes that keeping up with current recommendations is what will lead to the best care and outcomes for her parents and babies.
Beyond working, Velour enjoys music, listening to podcasts, watching sports and traveling internationally. She likes word-games like Ruzzle or Wordle, and has a secret obsession with the arcade game Pac-Man. She is a self-proclaimed foodie, trying at least one new restaurant every month. Although she loves a good karaoke night, stage fright keeps her from going onstage herself. Velour appreciates every person for who they authentically are & enjoys connecting with and learning from people.
